The Rector of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), Professor Pepe Capilla, inaugurated the 17th edition of the Employment Forum (ForoE) at the Gandia Campus on April 10. This event gathers companies, institutions, students, researchers, and entrepreneurs every year with the goal of promoting employability and knowledge exchange between the academic world and the productive sector.
In his speech, the Rector stressed the importance of such forums to strengthen the connection between the university and the business world, a link he described as key to economic and social development. “The UPV not only trains highly qualified professionals, but also acts as a driver of innovation and knowledge transfer in the region. These encounters reinforce our mission as a public university committed to the future of our students,” he stated.
The Rector was accompanied by the Vice-Rector for Employment and Lifelong Learning, Professor Elena de la Poza, who also participated in the institutional opening of the event, highlighting the forum’s value as a space for professional guidance and real job opportunities. Both shared the stage with the Mayor of Gandia, José Manuel Prieto, and the Director of the Gandia Campus, Vicenç Almenar, who expressed their support for the event and underlined the importance of inter-institutional collaboration to boost young talent and energize the labour ecosystem of the Safor region.
After the opening, the Rector visited the different spaces of the forum and spoke with representatives of participating companies and institutions, showing interest in the initiatives they are developing and the role the university can continue to play in improving young graduates’ employability.
The UPV’s institutional presence at ForoE 2025 reinforces the university’s commitment to student employability and its connection to the business sector. Once again, the Gandia Campus consolidates its position as a strategic space for interaction between knowledge, innovation, and professional development.
