This Monday, January 13, 2025, the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) and Renault Spain signed a collaboration agreement to establish the “Artificial Intelligence and Mobility” Classroom. The event, held in the rector’s office, solidified an initiative aimed at strengthening the relationship between the university and the business sector.
Professor Pepe Capilla, rector of the UPV, emphasized that the university currently hosts 109 active chairs, most of them in collaboration with companies, and underlined that the main goal of these initiatives is to improve student training and facilitate their entry into the job market. “For Renault, this is a great opportunity to attract talent and enable our graduates to transition into the workforce in a key area such as artificial intelligence applied to mobility,” he stated.
The event was also attended by the Vice-Rector for Employment and Lifelong Learning, Lola Salvador; the Director of the ETS School of Computer Engineering, Silvia Terrasa; the Deputy Director of Professional Environment Relations at ETSINF, César Ferri; the Director of the Chairs and Employment Office, Malak Kubessi; and the Classroom Director, José Hernández Orallo. Renault Spain was represented by César Lorenzo, R&D Director; Carlos Guindel, ADAS/AD Fusion Manager; and David Ortiz, HR Manager for Engineering.
The “Artificial Intelligence and Mobility” Classroom, endowed with an initial budget of €15,000, will promote activities such as conferences, workshops, awards for final degree projects, and expert meetings. This collaboration reinforces the UPV’s commitment to academic excellence and the development of university-business synergies.
