On the occasion of San Isidro week, organized by the Higher Technical School of Agronomic and Natural Environment Engineering (ETSEAMN) between May 6 and 9, 2024, the Rector participated in the institutional event held on May 9, 2024 in the center's assembly hall. This event, which began with the intervention of the School's director, Professor Constanza Rubio, has highlighted the cultural activity of the center as well as the role of its students within the framework of the Spontaneous Generation Program. In this sense, the prizes for the “Capture Biodiversity” photography contest have been awarded, and the students participating in Ecotrophelia have been recognized for the excellent results achieved. In addition, Professor Alberto San Bautista, former director of the ETSEAMN, gave a conference on the impact of the School on the social, economic and academic development of the Valencian Community.

During the closing of the event, the Rector, Professor Pepe Capilla, highlighted the important role that the School plays in the ecosystem of the Universitat Politècnica de València. On the one hand, he has emphasized the excellent teaching results of the center, which has allowed it to be placed, for yet another year, among the 5 best in Spain according to the ranking of degrees prepared by the newspaper El Mundo. “We are the polytechnic university that has the most degrees in that ranking,” highlighted the Rector and then added “we have more degrees in that podium than all public universities.” In this sense, he congratulated Professor Rubio for her work as head of the center's Management: “It is a satisfaction to see that the school grows and is recognized, and you will always have this rector and his team at your side to contribute to the “School continues to grow.”

Regarding the dynamic role of the center in relation to the socio-economic environment, and in line with what was commented by Professor San Bautista, the Rector has highlighted the role of the business chairs, such as the one the center has with the company Frutinter, which this same day has signed its renewal.

Subsequently, in an endearing act, the Rector unveiled the portrait of Professor San Bautista, which recognizes his time as director of this center for a period of 8 years.

Capilla: “A university without internationalization is not a university”

In anticipation of the celebration of Europe Day, European project monitoring sessions have been organized at the UPV. These days, which are held between March 8 and 9, are organized by the Spanish Service for the Internationalization of Education (SEPIE), the Department of Education, Universities and Employment and the Polytechnic University of Valencia itself. These sessions, to which more than 200 people were invited, serve as a meeting point between program managers (SEPIE) and project coordinators.

30th Week of Civil Engineering and the Environment

The Rector of the Universitat Politècnica de València, Professor Pepe Capilla, has inaugurated the Civil Engineering and Environment Week. This event, which is a tribute to graduates from 25 and 50 years ago, is promoted by the Higher Technical School of Civil Engineering, Canals and Ports of the UPV and celebrates its 30th anniversary in this edition.

Faraday Rocketry UPV, 56 students on their way to space

The Faraday Rocketry UPV Spontaneous Generation group presents Origin, the new prototype with which they hope to reach space, reaching, in the future, 100 km in height. This prototype, which is the largest and most powerful that the team has built, will carry out different tests in the coming months and will participate in the Euroc competition to be held in Portugal in October 2024.
