The Universitat Politècnica de València and Startup Valencia have renewed their collaboration agreement to further strengthen the Valencian entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem. Both entities see this agreement as an opportunity to lead entrepreneurship, improve the regulatory framework for startups and promote an academic offer more focused on entrepreneurship.

The signing of the agreement, carried out by the Rector of the UPV, Professor Pepe Capilla, and the CEO of Startup Valencia, Nacho Mas, has allowed a review of the activities carried out to date within the framework of this fruitful collaboration. These include events such as the Valencia Digital Summit and The Challenge, which is held annually in collaboration with the Vice-Rector's Office for Students and Entrepreneurship of the UPV.

Capilla has highlighted the UPV's leadership in entrepreneurship, as demonstrated by the recent celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Ideas Program. This program is the leading initiative of the entire Spanish university system, launched at a time when the topic of entrepreneurship “was part of the discourse of a few pioneers in the field,” the Rector highlighted. Furthermore, the UPV Ideas Program is the basis of much of the entrepreneurship that has emerged in the Valencia area. Nacho Mas, in this same line, has highlighted the great role of the UPV in this issue and has placed special emphasis on how the renewal of this agreement will allow improving synergies between a source of entrepreneurs as important as the UPV and Startup Valencia, which has managed to structure one of the main entrepreneurship ecosystems in the country on its own merits.

Professor Alberto Conejero, Vice-Rector for Students and Entrepreneurship, and Judith Saladrigas, Secretary of Startup Valencia and partner in entrepreneurship and innovation at the RCD firm, also participated during the signing ceremony. Judith Saladrigas, a lawyer specialized in entrepreneurship and innovation issues, has assessed the current regulatory and legislative framework that affects the field of entrepreneurship and technology transfer, issues that will undoubtedly be the subject of this alliance.
